5 And Joab3097 came935 into the house1004 to the king,4428 and said,559 You have shamed3001 this day3117 the faces6440 of all3605 your servants,5650 which this day3117 have saved4422 your life,5315 and the lives5315 of your sons1121 and of your daughters,1323 and the lives5315 of your wives,802 and the lives5315 of your concubines;6370

6 In that you love157 your enemies,8130 and hate8130 your friends.157 For you have declared5046 this day,3117 that you regard neither369 princes8269 nor servants:5650 for this day3117 I perceive,3045 that if3863 Absalom53 had lived,2416 and all3605 we had died4191 this day,3117 then227 it had pleased3477 5869 you well.

7 daß du liebhabest, die dich hassen8130, und hassest, die dich liebhaben157. Denn du lässest dich heute3117 merken3045, daß dir‘s nicht gelegen ist8130 an5046 den Hauptleuten8269 und Knechten5650. 7 Now6258 therefore arise,6965 go3318 forth,3318 and speak1696 comfortably5921 3820 to your servants:5650 for I swear7650 by the LORD,3068 if3588 you go3318 not forth,3318 there will not tarry3885 one376 with you this night:3915 and that will be worse7489 to you than all3605 the evil7451 that befell935 you from your youth5271 until5704 now.6258

8 So mache dich nun auf6965 und gehe935 heraus und rede mit deinen Knechten5650 freundlich3820. Denn ich schwöre7650 dir bei dem HErrn3068: Wirst du nicht7451 herausgehen, es wird kein Mann376 an dir bleiben3885 diese Nacht3915 über. Das wird dir ärger sein denn alles Übel7489, das über dich kommen3318 ist1696 von3318 deiner Jugend5271 auf bis hieher.

8 Then the king4428 arose,6965 and sat3427 in the gate.8179 And they told5046 to all3605 the people,5971 saying,559 Behold,2009 the king4428 does sit3427 in the gate.8179 And all3605 the people5971 came935 before6440 the king:4428 for Israel3478 had fled5127 every man376 to his tent.168

9 Da machte sich3427 der König4428 auf6965 und setzte sich3427 ins Tor8179. Und man559 sagte5046 es allem Volk5971: Siehe, der König4428 sitzet im Tor8179. Da kam935 alles Volk5971 vor6440 den König4428. Aber Israel3478 war5127 geflohen, ein376 jeglicher in seine Hütte168.

9 And all3605 the people5971 were at strife1777 throughout all3605 the tribes7626 of Israel,3478 saying,559 The king4428 saved5337 us out of the hand3709 of our enemies,341 and he delivered4422 us out of the hand3709 of the Philistines;6430 and now6258 he is fled1272 out of the land776 for Absalom.53

10 Und es zankte sich alles Volk5971 in allen Stämmen7626 Israels3478 und sprachen559: Der König4428 hat uns4422 errettet5337 von der Hand3709 unserer Feinde341 und erlösete uns von der Philister6430 Hand3709 und hat müssen aus dem Lande776 fliehen1272 vor Absalom53.

10 And Absalom,53 whom834 we anointed4886 over5921 us, is dead4191 in battle.4421 Now6258 therefore why4100 speak2790 you not a word of bringing7725 the king4428 back?7725

11 So ist Absalom53 gestorben4191 im Streit4421, den wir über uns gesalbet hatten4886. Warum seid ihr nun so stille, daß ihr den König4428 nicht2790 wieder7725 holet7725?

11 And king4428 David1732 sent7971 to Zadok6659 and to Abiathar54 the priests,3548 saying,559 Speak1696 to the elders2205 of Judah,3063 saying,559 Why4100 are you the last314 to bring7725 the king4428 back7725 to his house?1004 seeing the speech1697 of all3605 Israel3478 is come935 to the king,4428 even to his house.1004

12 Der König4428 aber sandte zu Zadok6659 und1732 Abjathar, den Priestern3548, und54 ließ7971 ihnen sagen559: Redet1696 mit den Ältesten2205 in Juda3063 und559 sprechet: Warum wollt ihr die letzten314 sein7725, den König4428 wieder7725 zu holen in sein Haus1004? (Denn die Rede1697 des ganzen Israel3478 war935 vor den König4428 kommen in sein Haus1004.)

13 Ihr seid meine Brüder251, mein Bein6106 und mein Fleisch1320; warum wollt ihr denn die letzten314 sein, den König4428 wieder7725 zu holen?

13 And say559 you to Amasa,6021 Are you not of my bone,6106 and of my flesh?1320 God430 do6213 so3541 to me, and more3254 also,3541 if518 you be not captain8269 of the host6635 before6440 me continually3605 3117 in the room8478 of Joab.3097

14 Und zu Amasa6021 sprechet: Bist du559 nicht3254 mein Bein6106 und mein Fleisch1320? GOtt430 tue6213 mir6440 dies und das, wo du nicht sollst sein Feldhauptmann8269 vor mir dein Leben lang3117 an Joabs3097 Statt8478.

14 And he bowed5186 the heart3824 of all3605 the men376 of Judah,3063 even as the heart3824 of one259 man;376 so that they sent7971 this word to the king,4428 Return7725 you, and all3605 your servants.5650

15 Und er376 neigete das Herz3824 aller Männer Judas wie eines259 Mannes376. Und sie sandten7971 hin5186 zum Könige4428: Komm wieder7725, du und alle deine Knechte5650!

15 So the king4428 returned,7725 and came935 to Jordan.3383 And Judah3063 came935 to Gilgal,1537 to go3212 to meet7125 the king,4428 to conduct5674 the king4428 over5674 Jordan.3383

16 Also kam935 der König4428 wieder7725. Und da er an den Jordan3383 kam, waren935 die Männer Judas gen Gilgal1537 kommen5674, hinabzuziehen3212 dem Könige entgegen7125, daß sie den König über5674 den Jordan3383 führeten.

16 And Shimei8096 the son1121 of Gera,1617 a Benjamite,1145 which834 was of Bahurim,980 hurried4116 and came3381 down3381 with the men376 of Judah3063 to meet7125 king4428 David.1732

17 Und376 Simei8096, der Sohn1121 Geras1617, des Sohns Jeminis, der zu Bahurim980 wohnete, eilete und zog mit den Männern Judas hinab3381 dem Könige4428 David1732 entgegen7125.

17 And there were a thousand505 men376 of Benjamin1144 with him, and Ziba6717 the servant5288 of the house1004 of Saul,7586 and his fifteen2568 6240 sons1121 and his twenty6242 servants5650 with him; and they went6743 over6743 Jordan3383 before6440 the king.4428

18 Und waren tausend505 Mann376 mit ihm von Benjamin1145, dazu auch Ziba6717, der Knabe5288 aus dem Hause1004 Sauls7586 mit seinen fünfzehn6240 Söhnen1121 und zwanzig6242 Knechten5650, und fertigten sich durch den Jordan3383 vor6440 dem Könige4428 her.

18 And there went5674 over5674 a ferry5679 boat5679 to carry5674 over5674 the king's4428 household,1004 and to do6213 what he thought5869 good.2896 And Shimei8096 the son1121 of Gera1617 fell5307 down before6440 the king,4428 as he was come5674 over5674 Jordan;3383

19 Und6213 machten die Furt, daß sie6440 das Gesinde1004 des Königs4428 hinüberführeten und täten, was2896 ihm gefiele. Simei8096 aber, der Sohn1121 Geras1617, fiel vor5869 dem Könige4428 nieder5307, da er über5674 den Jordan3383 fuhr5674.

19 And said559 to the king,4428 Let not my lord113 impute2803 iniquity5771 to me, neither408 do you remember2142 that which834 your servant5650 did perversely5753 the day3117 that my lord113 the king4428 went3318 out of Jerusalem,3389 that the king4428 should take7760 it to his heart.3820

20 Und7760 sprach559 zum Könige4428: Mein Herr113, rechne2803 mir nicht zu die Missetat5771 und gedenke2142 nicht, daß dein Knecht5650 dich beleidigte5753 des Tages3117, da mein Herr113 König4428 aus3318 Jerusalem3389 ging, und der König4428 nehme es nicht zu Herzen3820;

20 For your servant5650 does know3045 that I have sinned:2398 therefore, behold,2009 I am come935 the first7223 this day3117 of all3605 the house1004 of Joseph3130 to go3381 down3381 to meet7125 my lord113 the king.4428

21 denn dein Knecht5650 erkennet, daß ich3045 gesündiget habe2398. Und siehe, ich bin heute3117 der erste7223 kommen935 unter dem ganzen Hause1004 Josephs3130, daß ich meinem Herrn113 Könige4428 entgegen7125 herabzöge3381.

21 But Abishai52 the son1121 of Zeruiah6870 answered6030 and said,559 Shall not Shimei8096 be put to death4191 for this,2063 because3588 he cursed7043 the LORD's3068 anointed?4899

22 Aber Abisai52, der Sohn1121 Zerujas, antwortete6030 und sprach559: Und Simei8096 sollte darum nicht sterben4191, so er doch dem Gesalbten4899 des HErrn3068 geflucht hat7043?

22 And David1732 said,559 What4100 have I to do with you, you sons1121 of Zeruiah,6870 that you should this day3117 be adversaries7854 to me? shall there any man376 be put to death4191 this day3117 in Israel?3478 for do not I know3045 that I am this day3117 king4428 over5921 Israel?3478

23 David1732 aber sprach559: Was habe ich mit euch zu schaffen, ihr Kinder1121 Zerujas, daß ihr mir heute3117 wollt zum Satan7854 werden? Sollte heute3117 jemand sterben4191 in Israel3478? Meinest du, ich wisse3045 nicht, daß ich heute3117 ein376 König4428 bin worden über Israel3478?

23 Therefore the king4428 said559 to Shimei,8096 You shall not die.4191 And the king4428 swore7650 to him.

24 Und der König4428 sprach559 zu Simei8096: Du sollst nicht sterben4191. Und der König4428 schwur7650 ihm.
|
24 And Mephibosheth4648 the son1121 of Saul7586 came3381 down3381 to meet7125 the king,4428 and had neither3808 dressed6213 his feet,7272 nor3808 trimmed6213 his beard,8222 nor3808 washed3526 his clothes,899 from the day3117 the king4428 departed3212 until5704 the day3117 he came935 again in peace.7965

25 Mephiboseth4648, der Sohn1121 Sauls7586, kam935 auch herab3381 dem Könige4428 entgegen7125. Und6213 er hatte6213 seine Füße7272 noch3212 seinen Bart8222 nicht3808 gereiniget und seine Kleider899 nicht gewaschen3526 von dem Tage3117 an, da der König4428 weggegangen war, bis an den Tag3117, da er mit Frieden7965 kam.

25 And it came1961 to pass, when3588 he was come935 to Jerusalem3389 to meet7125 the king,4428 that the king4428 said559 to him, Why4100 went1980 not you with me, Mephibosheth?4648

26 Da er nun gen Jerusalem3389 kam935, dem Könige4428 zu begegnen7125, sprach559 der König4428 zu ihm: Warum bist du nicht mit mir gezogen1980, Mephiboseth4648?

26 And he answered,559 My lord,113 O king,4428 my servant5650 deceived7411 me: for your servant5650 said,559 I will saddle2280 me an ass,2543 that I may ride7392 thereon,5921 and go3212 to the king;4428 because3588 your servant5650 is lame.6455

|
27 Und er sprach559: Mein Herr113 König4428, mein Knecht5650 hat mich betrogen7411. Denn dein Knecht5650 gedachte559, ich will einen Esel2543 satteln2280 und drauf reiten7392 und zum Könige4428 ziehen3212; denn dein Knecht5650 ist lahm6455.

27 And he has slandered7270 your servant5650 to my lord113 the king;4428 but my lord113 the king4428 is as an angel4397 of God:430 do6213 therefore what is good2896 in your eyes.5869

28 Dazu hat er deinen Knecht5650 angegeben7270 vor5869 meinem Herrn113 Könige4428. Aber mein Herr113 König4428 ist wie2896 ein Engel4397 Gottes430; tue6213, was dir wohlgefällt.

28 For all3605 of my father's1 house1004 were but dead4194 men582 before my lord113 the king:4428 yet did you set7896 your servant5650 among them that did eat398 at your own table.7979 What4100 right6666 therefore have3426 I yet to cry2199 any more5750 to the king?4428

29 Denn all meines Vaters1 Haus1004 ist nichts3808 gewesen denn Leute582 des Todes4194 vor meinem Herrn113 Könige4428; so hast3426 du deinen Knecht5650 gesetzt7896 unter die, so auf deinem Tisch7979 essen398. Was habe ich weiter Gerechtigkeit6666, oder weiter zu schreien2199 an den König4428?

29 And the king4428 said559 to him, Why4100 speak1696 you any more5750 of your matters?1697 I have said,559 You and Ziba6717 divide2505 the land.7704

30 Der König4428 sprach559 zu ihm: Was redest du noch weiter von deinem Dinge? Ich habe1696 es1697 gesagt559: Du und Ziba6717 teilet den Acker7704 miteinander.

30 And Mephibosheth4648 said559 to the king,4428 Yes,637 let him take3947 all,3605 for as much310 834 as my lord113 the king4428 is come935 again7725 in peace7965 to his own house.1004

31 Mephiboseth4648 sprach559 zum Könige4428: Er935 nehme es1004 auch gar dahin, nachdem310 mein Herr113 König4428 mit834 Frieden7965 heimkommen ist3947.

31 And Barzillai1271 the Gileadite1569 came3381 down3381 from Rogelim,7274 and went5674 over5674 Jordan3383 with the king,4428 to conduct7971 him over5674 Jordan.3383

32 Und Barsillai1271, der Gileaditer1569, kam herab3381 von Roglim7274 und führete den König4428 über5674 den Jordan3383, daß er ihn im Jordan3383 geleitete7971.
|
32 Now Barzillai1271 was a very3966 aged2204 man, even fourscore8084 years8141 old:1121 and he had provided the king4428 of sustenance3557 while he lay7871 at Mahanaim;4266 for he was a very3966 great1419 man.376

33 Und Barsillai1271 war1121 fast alt2204, wohl achtzig8084 Jahre8141; der hatte den König4428 versorget, weil er zu3966 Mahanaim4266 war7871, denn er war1419 ein sehr3966 trefflicher Mann376.

33 And the king4428 said559 to Barzillai,1271 Come5674 you over5674 with me, and I will feed3557 you with me in Jerusalem.3389

34 Und der König4428 sprach559 zu Barsillai1271: Du sollst mit mir hinüberziehen5674, ich will dich versorgen3557 bei mir zu Jerusalem3389.
|
34 And Barzillai1271 said559 to the king,4428 How4100 long3117 have I to live,2416 that I should go5927 up with the king4428 to Jerusalem?3389

35 Aber Barsillai1271 sprach559 zum Könige4428: Was ist‘s noch3117, das ich zu leben2416 habe, daß ich mit dem Könige4428 sollte hinauf5927 gen Jerusalem3389 ziehen?
|
35 I am this day3117 fourscore8084 years8141 old:1121 and can I discern3045 between996 good2896 and evil?7451 can your servant5650 taste2938 what853 834 I eat398 or854 what853 834 I drink?8354 can I hear8085 any more5750 the voice693 of singing7891 men and singing7891 women? why4100 then should your servant5650 be yet5750 a burden4853 to my lord113 the king?4428

36 Ich bin heute3117 achtzig8084 Jahre8141 alt1121. Wie3045 sollte ich kennen, was834 gut2896 oder böse7451 ist, oder schmecken2938, was834 ich esse398 oder trinke8354, oder hören8085, was die Sänger7891 oder Sängerinnen singen6963? Warum sollte dein Knecht5650 meinen Herrn113 König4428 fürder beschweren4853?

36 Your servant5650 will go5674 a little4592 way over5674 Jordan3383 with the king:4428 and why4100 should the king4428 recompense1580 it me with such2063 a reward?1578

37 Dein Knecht5650 soll ein wenig4592 gehen5674 mit dem Könige4428 über5674 den Jordan3383. Warum will mir der König4428 eine solche Vergeltung1578 tun1580?

37 Let your servant,5650 I pray4994 you, turn7725 back7725 again,7725 that I may die4191 in my own city,5892 and be buried by the grave6913 of my father1 and of my mother.517 But behold2009 your servant5650 Chimham;3643 let him go5674 over5674 with my lord113 the king;4428 and do6213 to him what853 834 shall seem1961 5869 good2896 to you.

38 Laß deinen Knecht5650 umkehren, daß ich sterbe4191 in5674 meiner Stadt5892 bei meines Vaters1 und meiner Mutter517 Grab6913. Siehe, da7725 ist dein Knecht5650 Chimeham, den laß mit meinem Herrn113 Könige4428 hinüberziehen und tue6213 ihm5869, was dir wohlgefällt.

38 And the king4428 answered,559 Chimham3643 shall go5674 over5674 with me, and I will do6213 to him that which shall seem1961 5869 good2896 to you: and whatever3605 834 you shall require977 of me, that will I do6213 for you.

39 Der König4428 sprach559: Chimeham soll mit mir hinüberziehen5674, und ich will ihm5869 tun6213, was dir wohlgefällt; auch alles, was du an mir erwählest977, will ich dir tun6213.

39 And all3605 the people5971 went5674 over5674 Jordan.3383 And when the king4428 was come5674 over,5674 the king4428 kissed5401 Barzillai,1271 and blessed1288 him; and he returned7725 to his own place.4725

40 Und da alles Volk5971 über5674 den Jordan3383 war5674 gegangen und der König4428 auch, küssete der König4428 den Barsillai1271 und segnete1288 ihn; und er kehrete wieder7725 an seinen Ort4725.

40 Then the king4428 went5674 on to Gilgal,1537 and Chimham3643 went5674 on with him: and all3605 the people5971 of Judah3063 conducted5674 the king,4428 and also1571 half2677 the people5971 of Israel.3478

41 Und der König4428 zog5674 hinüber5674 gen Gilgal1537, und Chimeham zog5674 mit ihm. Und alles Volk5971 Juda3063 hatte den König4428 hinübergeführet; aber des Volks5971 Israel3478 war5674 nur die Hälfte2677 da.

41 And, behold,2009 all3605 the men376 of Israel3478 came935 to the king,4428 and said559 to the king,4428 Why4069 have our brothers251 the men376 of Judah3063 stolen1589 you away, and have brought5674 the king,4428 and his household,1004 and all3605 David's1732 men582 with him, over5674 Jordan?3383

42 Und376 siehe, da kamen935 alle Männer582 Israels3478 zum Könige4428 und376 sprachen559 zu ihm: Warum haben dich unsere Brüder251, die Männer Judas, gestohlen1589 und4428 haben den König4428 und sein Haus1004 über5674 den Jordan3383 geführet und alle Männer Davids1732 mit ihm?

42 And all3605 the men376 of Judah3063 answered6030 the men376 of Israel,3478 Because3588 the king4428 is near7138 of kin to us: why4100 then be you angry2734 for this2088 matter?1697 have we eaten398 at all of the king's4428 cost? or has he given5375 us any gift?5379

43 Da antworteten6030 die376 von Juda3063 denen von Israel3478: Der König4428 gehöret uns nahe7138 zu; was zürnet ihr2734 darum1697? Meinet ihr398, daß wir von dem376 Könige4428 Nahrung oder Geschenke5379 empfangen haben398?

43 And the men376 of Israel3478 answered6030 the men376 of Judah,3063 and said,559 We have ten6235 parts in the king,4428 and we have also1571 more right in David1732 than you: why4069 then did you despise7043 us, that our advice1697 should not be first7223 had in bringing7725 back7725 our king?4428 And the words1697 of the men376 of Judah3063 were fiercer7185 than the words1697 of the men376 of Israel.3478

44 So antworteten6030 dann die376 von3027 Israel3478 denen von Juda3063 und376 sprachen559: Wir haben zehnmal6235 mehr bei dem Könige4428, dazu auch bei David1732 denn ihr. Warum hast1697 du mich589 denn so gering geachtet7043, daß das1697 Unsere nicht das1697 erste7223 gewesen ist, unsern König4428 zu holen7725? Aber die376 von Juda3063 redeten härter7185 denn die376 von Israel3478.
